Day Camp Activities:
[ Visit Day Camp Home ]

Canoeing & Kayaking   If you thought canoeing was just a leisurely glide, you haven't experienced the Great Adventure Day Camp's brand of wild water fun!  With games, races, and songs there is never a dull moment. As your skill level increases you will progress from canoes to kayaks on MMTC's beautiful one acre pond.  The advanced canoers will even have the chance of leaving the confines of the pond and striking out onto French Creek!  Each canoe is staffed with one instructor, sometimes a spare dog or two, and every once in a while a stray confused bull frog!

Mountian Explorers
You never know what new, amazing, creative, knock your socks off activities the Mountain Explorers are going to be up to!  So join this group and hang on!  It's all about exciting, hands-on, outdoor learning experiences.  From discovering how to make a fire, to setting off homemade rockets, to learning leadership skills and how to grab hold of mountain sized events, and knowing WHO to turn to when the going gets rough, there is never a dull moment with the Mountain Explorer crew around!

Creative Connection  If you enjoy creating beautiful and unique art projects, the Creative Connection is for you.  In the past years students have designed garden stepping stones, crafted sterling silver and crystal jewelry, made stained glass mirrors, and sculpted clay pots.  It is our belief that every creation should be a treasured work of art.  Students in our Advanced Camp will have the opportunity to learn the exciting art of photography!  If you are the type of person that goes for the "WOW factor" this is the class for you!

Archery  Plenty of surprise await you in these archery classes designed for beginners, intermediate and advanced students.  Safety, skill and creativity are the focus as your practice hands-on basics from proper stance to draw and release.  Individualized attention is the name of the game as you work with the qualified team of adults and teens.  If you are an advanced student, we highly encourage you to bring your own equipment to class so that both you and your equipment can be fine tuned together.  Top archer of the week wins a surprise Friday night!  That top archer could be YOU!

Horse Riding and Barn Class  How would you like to start you week by riding six different horses?  Our unique training methods team you up with the perfect instructor and horse.  If you are a beginner, you will learn basic skills to compete in fast moving games.  Intermediate riders will perform a pattern set to music.  And finally the advanced students will experience the thrill of leaving the ring and taking to the wooded trails.  In the barn class you will learn even more about one of God's wonderful creatures, the horse!

Air Riflery  You will be taught by NRA certified instructors in air riflery safety, acuracy and skill.  Individual attention from a qualified teen or adult staff member is given to you in these beginner, intermediate and advanced classes.  This year's program offers some great new surprises.  Both girls and boys will find this a rewarding sport with skills that will last a lifetime.  The top shooter of each week will win a new air rifle, pellets, and targets.  That is one sweet deal!

The Fifth Discipline The new Fifth Discipline is here!  Are you ready for high adventure, high adrenaline, over the top fun!?  A brand new low level ropes course has been constructed to present exciting, problem solving challenges for high energy campers.  That along with a ton of fun team building activities makes for an experience you will not want to miss!

Beyond the Blue  Enter the Upper room and be transported to a city inhabited by Super Heroes who may need your help!  A whole host of characters are wiating to grab your attention through puppets, skits, singing, dancing, and Bible lessons.  We will all learn that there is a hero in everyone of us and if we want to succeed we must enlist the help of the Ultimate Super Hero.  Without the help of Jesus Christ there is not much we can do!  And besides, all of that ... you DO NOT want to miss seeing Beyond the Blue's famous black light performances!  Now that is one Great Adventure in itself!
