Great Adventure Day Camp Details

Day Camp Activities:
[ Visit Day Camp Home ]

Canoeing & Kayaking   If you thought canoeing was just a leisurely glide, you haven’t experienced the Great Adventure Day Camp’s brand of wild water fun!  With games, races, and songs there is never a dull moment.  As your child’s skill level increases they will have the chance to progress from canoes to kayaks on MMTC’s beautiful one acre pond.  Each canoe is staffed with one instructor, sometimes a spare dog or two, and every once in a while a stray confused bullfrog!
Mountian Explorers

What are those crazy Mountain Explorers up to now?  Wow, are they roping cattle? Wait, no, they’re building a catapult.  Now they’re cooking over an open fire.  Whoa!  A group of them just set off a rocket!  If you decide to send your explorer to join this group of adventurers, they might just get to learn to throw a hatchet, make homemade ice cream, or go on a hike through the woods to learn who to follow when the going gets tough.

Creative Connection Art = Popsicle Stick Boxes and Yarn bracelets … NO WAY!  Break out of the box, throw away the yarn, and get ready to create some awesome treasures!  The Great Creator, God, calls you His treasured work of art, so why shouldn’t what you create be treasured as well?  Give your child a chance to try their hand at  crafting sterling silver and crystal jewelry, sculpting with clay, or turning ordinary broken glass into beautiful stained glass mirrors.  Most importantly, they will learn about the author of creativity.  What have you created today?

Shooting Sports This new and innovative program combines both Archery and Air Rifle to give your child a complete shooting sports experience.  Teen instructors and NRA certified adults are waiting to give hands on, individual, tailored instruction to your child in the area of safety, accuracy, creativity, and skill.  Aim for the bulls eye on traditional, cartoon, 3-D, and moving targets.  If your child is an experienced shooting sports enthusiast and owns their own shooting equipment, we highly suggest that they bring it so that your child may be fine tuned on their own equipment.  There might also be an opportunity to try out an air pistol!  Top shooters of the week will win a prize Friday night, and everyone will learn the most important lesson of how to hit the mark!

Horse Riding & Barn Class Our training methods team your child up with the perfect instructor and the perfect horse to compliment the rider.  Beginner students will learn basic skills needed to compete in fast moving games.  Intermediate students will increase their skills in order to perform a pattern set to music.  New Frontiers Equestrian students will experience the adventure of leaving the ring and taking to the wooded trails.  The barn class experience goes hands on in teaching even more about one of God’s wonderful creations, the horse.

Challenge Course Are you ready for high adventure, high adrenaline, over the top fun?!  Our brand new, low level ropes and challenge course that kicked off last year is back again with new activities and awesome upgrades!  This is the place for high energy campers to learn  how to be a leader and how to work as a team to navigate unique  problem solving challenges.  This is an experience your child will not want to miss!

Beyond the Blue What adventures await beyond the blue?  Thrilling stories, get up and dance to songs, and brand new... edge of your seat... eye popping black light performances are waiting for you!  Through drama, music, fun, and the unique experiences of BTB, campers will learn, all about the awesome God we serve.  As someone once said, “Serving God is not a job, it’s an adventure!”
