Sandy Mitchell
Sandy Mitchell
When asked how she first came to camp, Sandy said "I was standing beside Denise when she was first asked when she would be starting a day camp.  And as the saying goes 'I was pulled into the vortex.'"  Sandy served faithfully on the Board of Directors for ten years as the Business Manager.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Resource Management, and works at the Union City Public Library as a Libray Aide.  She enjoys people and finds both her job and volunteering at Mystic Mountain to be satisfying expereinces.  Other hobbies include horse back riding, hiking, reading, sewing, quilting, and dancing when no one is looking.  She loves horses, kids, her family, and especially God.  She likes the passages in the Bible where it talks about "light," as in John 1:4-5 and 2 Corinthians 4:6.  Sandy remains a very important part of our Great Adventure Day Camp volunteer team, and will continue to serve on the Photography Team.

Melanie Hurta
Melanie is our closet geek.  We recently found out that although her passions lie in environmental education, her master’s degree work was in computer technology and information systems.  Melanie also does work for various school districts in their computer labs.  In 2006 she assisted with the development of our Young Explorer’s Camp. The following year she became its director and has been orchestrating this energetic group ever since.  She enjoys hiking, cooking, and vacuuming.  Her favorite verse is Joshua 1:8-9.
